Corporate Team Challenge (for a charity)

Participate in the Corporate Team Challenge and battle your friends, colleagues’ and competitors for title of the overall Corporate Challenge winner. A portion of each team entry fee is donated to the designated charity.

Forming a team is an excellent way to promote health and fitness at work and is a wonderful way to raise money for your favorite Charity.

Only the half Marathon will have a Corporate Charity Challenge. In addition to the overall winner, awards will be given to the top teams in the following groups:

  • First Responders; Any law enforcement (City, County, State or Federal) or Fire Department
  • Military Service
  • High School Group
  • Small Company (less than 500 employees)
  • Large Company (500 or more employees)
  • College Group
  • Religious Group

Teams must register as a Team and have up to 10 members.

Points will be awarded based on individual team members’ placement within their age groups. The formula for determining an individual’s score is as follows:

(Place within age group) / (number of people in age group) x 1000 = individual score

The lowest score wins. The five (5) individuals with the lowest score for each team will be added to determine the winners.

The overall winning team will be presented with “the gold shoe” noting their great performance which they may proudly display at their organization.

Awards will also be presented to the first place teams for each type and category.

The Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon and 5K begins in downtown Houston’s historic Sam Houston Park. This familiar route will have an unfamiliar transformation with R&B bands lining the course along with pep squads and volunteers creating an electrifying, festive environment every step of the way for both half marathoners and 5K participants.

Gun time is used to determine winner prizes. Chip time is used to determine all age-group winners and other award recipients. Unofficial results will include gun and chip time.
